Camping in Damara Land

Aabadi Mountain Camp is located in the unspoiled Damaraland area, just about 20 kilometres away from Twyfelfontein and about 325 km from Etosha National Park. Aabadi Mountain Camp is the perfect stopover between the Skeleton Coast and Etosha, or on the road to Kaokoveld. The rest camp is regularly visited by the famous desert elephant, which passes by for a drink or bath in our permanent waterhole. From the sundowner terrace you have a great view over the dry riverbed and you'll notice the elephants from kilometres away. While enjoying a cool drink, just sit back and relax in this beautiful area!

Mowani Mountain Camp consists of 12 luxury tents, all with en-suite facilities, decorated beautifully in East African style. The luxury tents are a great source of relaxation. At the Lodge you find a fully licenced restaurant, cuisine with the "esprit" of the area, well stocked Bar and Lounge and a large Pool area.

Hobatere Lodge is situated on 32,000ha of wildlife concession area, approximately 80km north of Kamanjab on the western edge of the Etosha National Park. The entrance to Etosha on this side of the park, can only be used by Namibian Safari companies, however Hobatere Lodge still acts as an ideal stop-over between Damaraland, Kaokoland and the Etosha National Park. The name Hobatere means 'find me.'

The lodge has a well-stocked bar, with comprehensive wine list, a small curio shop, and a comfortable lounge with a small library. Excellent bush cuisine is served on the veranda as well as "braais" at the boma. Many of their guests have commented on the warm welcome, exceptional food, and the special ambiance savored in the al fresco dining area. There is also a swimming pool and electricity is supplied from a generator until 10pm.

There are 12 thatched bungalows and rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets.

Hobatere Lodge has a rustic tree house which overlooks a waterhole. You can spend the night here and it is a perfect way to experience the nocturnal sounds of Africa. This hide offers the closest possible contact with nature.
